GCSE Food students enjoy a visit to Borough Market and Bread Ahead Bakery

On Tuesday 6 December, students from Northampton High visited Borough Market and attended a Japanese bread cooking class at Bread Ahead Bakery

Last week, our GCSE food students had a fabulous time walking around the various stalls at Borough Market. From fudge to spices and the overpriced pot of chocolate-covered strawberries, there really was something for everyone. They especially enjoyed a custom apple crumble from Humble Crumble, which they found through social media.

The group also attended a Japanese bread cooking class at Bread Ahead Bakery to learn new bread-making skills. Two of our Year 10 GCSE Food students described the class as relaxing and were delighted with the rice flour loaf, cheese buns and melon pan they baked, despite not trying them before. The students were thrilled to receive a scaper, which they used when making the bread, as a souvenir from the class!
