Young Fashion Designer of the Year Winner

Sixth Form pupil Zahra Al Najjar has been awarded the title of Young Fashion Designer of the Year 2017 for her collection which was inspired by architectural form.

Two other sixth form pupils were also given plaudits. Phoebe Abbott in year 12 was invited to attend the final to exhibit her Couture project inspired by nature and Amy Whittaker in Year 11 received Highly Commended for her project about Androgynous Street Style.

The final was an exciting and inspiring day with opportunities to take part in workshops, meet previous winners and hear about their current university courses at Central St Martins, University for The Creative Arts and University of Westminster. The standard was extremely high and the interview process with the judges was intense.
Zahra will be applying to study Fashion at university and taking part in a YFDUK catwalk presentation at the NEC in Birmingham.
