Undergraduate Jessica Dancer, who left the High School for the University of Warwick last year, came back to school to give a talk about her current studies. Jess is reading for a degree in Economics, Politics & International Studies and was able to give the Sixth Form girls a great insight into the sort of work that this degree entails.
It was interesting to hear her thoughts on how she has fared in her first year of study and her plans for the future. Her advice on what makes an effective personal statement and how to choose the right university and course was also useful to our current Sixth Form girls as they start their own journey into Higher Education.
Her one piece of advice for the girls was to read the newspapers and gain an understanding of global issues in order to make the most of the diverse experience that world class universities now offer.
