Blog - Learning Spaces

‘As we finish preparations to allow younger girls from age 2 to experience our School it has sparked thoughts of what makes the best environment for the perfect learning experience, and do the requirements change with different ages? It is probably best to start by thinking about two prime ingredients in all aspects of education, namely safety and enjoyment..’ Click to read more of our latest School blog written by Mr Urquhart, Head of Junior School.

Poppy Making Workshop

Mrs Knight attended the Remembrance Poppy making workshop on Thursday.

“I loved attending Miss Lycett’s Remembrance Poppy making workshop. I had the chance to be creative and make my own poppy that is stylish and makes a statement whilst still representing the Armed Forces community. It is open and free to all girls and members of staff during REC on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th November. Join in whilst you can!”

Book Review

Release by Patrick Ness – recommended for U4 and above

The most personal and tender novel yet from Patrick Ness, the twice Carnegie Medal-winning author of A Monster Calls. It’s Saturday, it’s summer and, although he doesn’t know it yet, everything in Adam Thorn’s life is going to fall apart. But maybe, just maybe, he’ll find freedom from the release. Time is running out though, because way across town, a ghost has risen from the lake.

Sports News

We have settled back into hockey this week and had a number of very productive training sessions. We look forward to getting back to competition tomorrow with 7 teams playing matches against Princethorpe College. We wish all girls representing the school tomorrow good luck.

Netball

This week we are delighted to be able to congratulate Georgie Forde-Wells in L5 who has been selected for the Loughborough Lightning U17 Netball Squad.  She will train at Loughborough every week under the Loughborough Lightning Performance Pathway.  Georgie plays for our U15 team and also for Northants Storm in the Regional Clubs League,  as well as being part of the Northants Netball Performance Academy.  Well done Georgie, we look forward to seeing your progress in Performance Netball.
