Following our inspection in November 2019, the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) have made some amendments to the wording of their original report. I am delighted to say that the updated report, published today, further highlights all that is special about Northampton High School.

This report reiterates our compliance with the Independent School Standards Regulations and clearly states that we have achieved the highest grade – ‘Excellent’ – in both categories of the Educational Quality Inspection: the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements and the quality of pupils’ personal development.

“The quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent.”

“The quality of pupils’ personal development is excellent.”

Georgie smashes PB at British Open Indoor Athletics Championships

Everybody at Northampton High School would like to give a huge congratulations to Georgie FW for her fantastic performance at the British Open Indoor Athletics Championships last weekend.

The prestigious event, held in Sheffield, featured a host of the UK’s top young athletes, with Georgie performing superbly earning third place in the U20 Triple Jump event. Not only did Georgie take home the bronze, but she also smashed her PB in the process with a jump of 12.43m, meaning she is now ranked 3rd in the UK!

A fantastic achievement Georgie, well done!

High School Sport

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely half term, we were delighted to achieve some sporting success during the break.

Firstly, congratulations to Georgie FW who, as you will have read above, put in a stellar performance at the British Open Indoor Athletics Championships. Secondly to Jess P who was selected to play in the Wasps U15 team against Leeds Rhino’s last weekend. This is an excellent achievement as she was one of 12 selected from 35 girls in the competition long squad. Wasps also came away victorious with a 54-43 win. Well done, Jess.

In our Netball fixtures this week we enjoyed 2 wins and 1 loss versus Pitsford School.

We wish all our riders the best of luck tomorrow at our marquee Equestrian Eventer Challenge at Onley, and look forward to our Swimming, Netball and Condover Hall Trip next week.

Book Review

The Time of Green Magic by Hilary McKay

Abi and her two step-brothers, Max and Louis, find that strange things happen when they are alone in their eerie, ivy-covered new house.

Abi, reading alone, finds herself tumbling deep into books, while Louis summons a startling guest through his bedroom window. Even Max has started to see shapes in the shadows . . .

Their busy parents see none of it – but Louis’ secret visitor is growing too alarming to keep secret, and he finds he cannot manage without Max and Abi’s help.

Can they find out where the mysterious creature has come from – and how to get it back there?
