GDST U13 Cricket Rally
Bristol
On Tuesday 24 June, the U13A cricket team travelled to Bristol to play in a GDST cricket rally. All teams started on a total of 200 runs. Our first match was against Streatham and Clapham High and we scored 273 and Streatham and Clapham scored 244. Player of the Match was awarded to Angelie.
Then we played South Hampstead High. We scored 220 and South Hampstead scored 208 resulting in our 2nd win of the day. Player of the Match was awarded to Amélie for batting and Angelie for bowling.
For our 3rd game of the day we played Oxford High School. This was a very tight game but we managed to secure the win with Oxford High scoring 232 and Northampton High scoring 234. Player of the Match was awarded to Angelie for batting and Annabelle for bowling.
For our last game before the knockout stages, we played Northwood College. This was our first time playing on a grass pitch during the tournament but we still managed to play very well. We scored 239 runs and Northwood scored 224. Player of the Match was awarded to Grace for batting and Angelie for bowling.
Going unbeaten in the group stages, we were either going to be playing for 1st and 2nd place or 3rd and 4th place. It ended up being chosen by runs scored and we missed out on a chance for 1st & 2nd by 3 runs! This meant we were playing Redmaids High School for a chance at 3rd place. We bowled very well in the first innings restricting Redmaids to just 200 runs. This meant all we needed to do was not lose any wickets. We won the match scoring 233 runs. Well done for everyone who played in this tournament, we played extremely well and have definitely improved from the start of term.
