This week, the girls have had a successful week in their netball and cricket matches! Read below to find out how the matches went, and more about this weeks fixtures.

Friday 7 March

Badminton Regional Finals in Nottingham

On Friday 7 March at Nottingham Trent University, Teshvi, Harini, Risara and Lizzie played badminton in the Regional School’s Badminton Final and came 4th out of 5 schools. They were very tough matches, and we all did well. We also met a Paralympic silver medalist, who was also an actor in Game of Thrones, and we got his autograph.  Overall, we had a fun day and did our best in the matches.

Thursday 13 March

U15A Indoor Cricket County Finals

On Thursday 13 March, the U15 cricket team played in the Indoor County Finals. We had the toughest draw and faced Oundle School in the semi-final. We batted first, facing some excellent bowling however still managed to get a respectable score with some great batting by Frankie and Lottie. We gave a solid bowling performance, but Oundle School reached the required score with two overs to spare. Meanwhile, Moulton had beaten Wellingborough School in the other semi, which meant we were to face Wellingborough School in the third place play-off. We batted first again, getting a higher score, with some solid batting from Tess and Jasmine, and also bowled well, taking a few wickets. Special mention to Daisy for her consistent bowling, helping us to beat Wellingborough School and get third place.

Tuesday 18 March

Netball: U14/15 v Akeley Wood School & Bedford Green Acre

Won 13:9

A mixed Year 9 and 10 team travelled to Akeley Wood School for a triangular fixture.

They played as a solid unit against Akeley Wood School and dominated from the start winning 20:8.

The next game proved more difficult and Bedford Green Acre took an early lead of 6:1 at quarter time. We then began to consolidate out play and came back to 12:6 in the third quarter.

With a task of getting at least two turn overs and to score three goals, the team rose to the challenge.

Isla H and Kara R were excellent in defence keeping the Bedford Green Acre score down to 1. Safiya, Peony, Olivia and Elise moved with the ball with precision and accuracy.

A fantastic afternoon’s netball.

The Player Of The Match went to Elise.

Thursday 20 March

Netball: U16A v Wellingborough School

The U16 team travelled to Wellingborough School to play their first team. Competition was tough and Wellingborough School took an early lead. The girls moved the ball down the court with ease however the goals just didn’t want to go in!  This resulted in a win for Wellingborough School.

Some excellent interceptions and strong attacking play earned Evie Player Of The Match.
