Junior Mathematical Challenge

Last month, our Year 7, 8 and a Year 6 student participated in the Junior Mathematical Challenge.

Last month, a group of our bright Year 7 and 8 Northampton High School students, alongside the exceptionally talented Kinara B from Year 6, put their mathematical skills to the test by participating in the Junior Mathematical Challenge.

The Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC) is a demanding 60-minute, 25-question multiple-choice competition designed to stretch students’ mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency. It encourages participants to think critically and creatively to solve complex problems.

We are thrilled to announce that two of our students, Kinara B (Year 6) and Maisie T (Year 8), scored highly enough in the initial challenge to qualify for the prestigious next round: the Junior Kangaroo competition.

The results are now in, and we are incredibly proud of both students’ achievements. Maisie T has been awarded a well-deserved Silver Certificate for her performance in the Junior Kangaroo, while Kinara B has achieved an outstanding Gold Certificate!

This is a truly fantastic accomplishment for both students, showcasing their exceptional mathematical abilities and dedication. We extend our warmest congratulations to Kinara and Maisie for their remarkable success in this highly competitive national challenge.
