With 31% of all grades awarded at the top 9/8 level (A* equivalent) and 68% at grades 9-6 (A*-B equivalent), Northampton High School GDST has much to celebrate.
Results Day was filled with excitement and pride as pupils opened their results to reveal superb outcomes across a wide range of subjects. Impressively, 11% of the cohort achieved a clean sweep of grades 9-7, while a third of pupils achieved only grades 9-6. In addition, 40% of the cohort attained five or more grades at 9-7 (A*/A equivalent), reflecting the School’s academic strength and the collective success of this ambitious and hardworking year group.
There were also exceptional performances across individual subjects. At least 50% of grades in English Literature, Computing and Latin were awarded at grades 9/8, while at least 50% of pupils studying Drama, English Language, Geography, Latin, Additional Maths, PRE (RS) and Spanish achieved grades 9-7. These results demonstrate the breadth of talent, enthusiasm and academic ambition among Northampton High pupils across the disciplines.

Such results are the culmination of hard work, skilled teaching, a bright and sparky attitude to learning, and a real determination to succeed. It has also been heartwarming today to witness the girls’ genuine joy in one another’s success. This Year 11 is a focused and energetic group who thrive on challenge and grasp the opportunities before them. They deserve these excellent results, and we are looking forward with real excitement to all that they will bring to our Sixth Form”.

Dr Lee concludes: “They have already demonstrated an appetite for learning, ambition and success, and I have no doubt that they will carry that same spirit into the next stage of their education. The foundations have been laid and the stepping stones are firmly in place. A Levels await!”
The majority of Northampton High’s Year 11 students will remain at the School to begin their Sixth Form studies in September, where they will continue to cultivate intellectual curiosity, independence and leadership skills as they embark on their A Levels.
