Northampton High School GDST is celebrating a fantastic set of A Level results today, with 42% of grades awarded at A* or A and 81% A* to B. An impressive 13% of students achieved straight A*/A grades, while 29% achieved at least one A* grade.
In addition, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) was undertaken by 26% of students in the year group, with 100% achieving A* to B grades, of which 63% were A* grades. These outstanding outcomes reflect the school’s strengthening academic profile and the distinctive advantages of a Northampton High all-girls education.
As true advocates for girls’ education, Northampton High teachers are passionate about empowering their students to pursue areas of study and careers in which women have been historically underrepresented. It is therefore particularly pleasing that 42% of the Year 13 cohort chose to study Mathematics, collectively securing an impressive 62% A*/A grades. Not to be outdone, Religious Studies, Economics and Chinese also celebrated outstanding results, with 100% of candidates achieving A*/A grades.

Deputy Head Girl, Tanishqa, celebrates with Dr Lee after receiving a clean sweep of four A grades in Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics. Tanishqa, who has been at Northampton High School GDST since Year 7, is looking forward to her first choice UCL to study Social Sciences with Data Science.
Tara, a Northampton High School student since the age of two, is heading off to the University of Sheffield to study Law and Criminology after her excellent A Level results, her journey is a shining example of dedication and growth.
Annabel’s love of Mathematics looks set to continue as her A* grade in Mathematics, alongside two A grades in Further Mathematics and Physics, suggest she is opting for the right degree! Annabel will take her place at her top choice institution, Durham University, reading Mathematics and Statistics. An exceptional student, she takes with her the best wishes of all at Northampton High.
Deputy Head Girl, Lilia, celebrates after achieving a clean sweep of A grades in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Lilia has also proudly secured a degree apprenticeship with Galliford Try.
Sonya, who has been at Northampton High since Nursery, achieved an outstanding two A*s and two As, including her EPQ, and will go on to study Politics and International Relations at UCL.
