Congratulations to our Head’s Commendations Recipients

Huge congratulations to all of our students who received a Head’s Commendation from Dr Lee this term!

We’re delighted to share our Northampton High students who were awarded with a Head’s Commendation award for this half term.

The following nominated students were presented with their awards in the Senior Foyer surrounded by their peers and teachers who joined them in congratulating them for their special achievements.

Throughout this half term, each of these students have shown kindness and demonstrated a high dedication to school life, both in their school work and extracurricular activities!

Dr Lee presented the girls with their certificates and sweets; a huge well done to this amazing group for your positive attitudes and contributions to your school work so far this academic year!

This special award goes to the following students:

Grace F – Grace has worked extremely hard in English to develop her reading and writing skills despite sometimes finding the work quite challenging. She contributes to enthusiastically to class discussions and encourages others to have the confidence to do the same. Well done for showing curiosity, taking risks, collaborating with others and above all persevering in all that you do.

Lucy G – Lucy came second in a competition run by her local bookshop, The Snug in Olney. Emma Carroll, a very successful writer of fiction and popular with the girls in school, judged the competition and described Lucy’s story as: “Lucy’s story was almost flawless: beautiful writing, confident world building and a control and fluency that made it a truly stunning read.”

Giovanna O – For her resilience in Geography; she has applied herself really well, finding it tough at times last term but she has got a Grade 9 in the summer assessment and I’m really proud of her.

Abby W – For getting through the exams and being resilient. We are super proud of her and her determination.

Tasneem S – Tasneem has significantly advanced her scientific skills, both in analytical thinking and practical application, as evidenced by her excellent performance in the summer assessments. She is highly self-aware as a learner, demonstrating a clear understanding of her strengths and areas for growth. In her recent work on a competition entry, Tasneem has been an effective and inclusive team member, validating the contributions of others while fostering strong communication and collaboration within the group.

Tilly – For picking up rubbish from other students on the bus so the driver doesn’t have to.

Veronica C – For scoring 20/20 on her Unseen Poetry assessment. This is an outstanding achievement, especially given English is her second language and she analysed the language and structure of the poem completely independently under times conditions. Her essay has been used as an example to her peers of what the ‘best’ looks like and they were in awe of Veronica’s impressive work.

Tara E – For organising and leading the summer picnic and gala for our pupils, and what a wonderful and imaginative way to promote a sense of belonging and community. It is such an inspired idea, and I want to commend you for the energy and care you have invested. Well done, and thank you for so generously giving up your time to bring this to life for the girls.
