We’re delighted to share our Northampton High students who were awarded with a Head’s Commendation award for this half term.
On Friday, the following nominated students were presented with their awards in the Senior Foyer surrounded by their peers and teachers who joined them in congratulating them for their special achievements.
Throughout this half term, each of these students have shown kindness and demonstrated a high dedication to school life, both in their school work and extracurricular activities!
Dr Lee presented the girls with their certificates and sweets; a huge well done to this amazing group for your positive attitudes and contributions to your school work so far this academic year!
This special award goes to the following students:
Varnikaa S – Every day she sits next to Iny on the bus and they discuss everything you can think of. Varnikaa also does some maths with Iny. I’m sure it makes a huge difference to Iny who, after all, is just 5 years old and has the longest journey of all the girls at around 90 minutes.
Mya K – For full marks on an essay and I just think it is typical of the standard she has been working at all term. The class weren’t given any help with the planning of this work beyond generic exam technique advice so it’s all her work and shows sophisticated thinking; I particularly liked the transition from ICT as a factor into this partially enabling the global shift. She also has strong ongoing evaluation.
Aiyven M – For her Annie documentary, putting her own time to interviewing, editing and layering the video.
Anusha S – Anusha is an exemplary student in French, demonstrating outstanding dedication and passion for the language. She is consistently polite and respectful, embodying a positive and supportive presence in and outside the classroom. Anusha eagerly seizes every opportunity to practice her French, whether engaging with me in the corridors or contributing enthusiastically in lessons. Her curiosity shines through her thoughtful questions and genuine desire to deepen her understanding. She completes all tasks with exceptional accuracy, including challenging extension activities, and excels in supporting her peers with kindness and encouragement. Anusha’s commitment and enthusiasm are truly commendable and inspiring to all.
Amelia H – I would like to nominate Amelia Harmer for her exceptional start at Northampton High School. Amelia has consistently demonstrated an outstanding attitude and remarkable effort across multiple sports, including hockey, football, swimming, cross country, and fitness. Her commitment, enthusiasm, and dedication set her apart as an inspiring and valuable member of our school community.
Lucy-Mae L – I would like to nominate Lucy-Mae for the Head Teacher’s Commendation for her exceptional work ethic and achievements in A level Biology. They have made a very successful transition to A Level, demonstrating remarkable independence and a strong commitment to their studies. Lucy-Mae consistently contributes enthusiastically in every lesson, actively engaging with the material and collaborating effectively with her peers. Her courage and determination were particularly evident during an investigation using locusts, where she not only demonstrated more than 10% bravery by handling the insects with calmness and care but also helped others feel comfortable and confident in doing so. Lucy-Mae’s kindness, responsibility, and dedication to both her academic and practical work make her a standout student.
Amelia N – For her large contribution to the Eco Team assembly on Monday (focused on the Sustainable Development Goals).
Caoimhe H – For her hard work and talent in Irish Dancing. She achieved outstanding results at the Christmas Feis in Portishead, securing 1st place, two 2nd places, a 3rd place, and a 7th place in her primary category.
Shruthi P – For her dedicated support, tireless effort and boundless enthusiasm in helping with our Christmas Fayre.
Sahitya B – for her dedicated support, tireless effort and boundless enthusiasm in helping with our Christmas Fayre.
