Celebrations at Northampton High for our Head’s Commendation Recipients

Huge congratulations to all of our students who received a Head’s Commendation from Dr Lee this week!

Throughout this half term, students have been demonstrating kindness and dedication to school life, as well as outstanding achievements which we’re delighted to celebrate with the recipients for their hard work. Today, during lunchtime, the following nominated students were presented with their awards in the Senior Foyer surrounded by their peers and teachers who joined them in congratulating them for their special achievements.

Dr Lee presented the girls with their certificates and sweets; a huge well done to this amazing group for your positive attitudes and contributions to your school work so far this academic year!

This special award goes to the following students:

Millie C – Effort and achievement in History this term has been excellent with a first essay on mediaeval warfare being used to model superb question focus and attack. Millie is making great progress and comes to every lesson ready to learn with a super smile on her face.

Ruby C & Esther W – Ruby and Esther are very well planned and organised. This week, they presented their idea for House Plays with a slides presentation including video. They have set up lists for people to sign up to and discussed their plans for auditions. All alongside preparing for the Year 7 House Storytelling, where they have auditions already up and running, which was alongside the Big Brag – where they achieved a win. Their teamwork, planning and great relationship with the house is why they are doing so well.

Charlotte D – Great hockey determination and improving her confidence on the pitch.

Chanan S & Olivia S – Perseverance attending Chem Clinic every Tuesday after school with a smile and cheerfulness every time.

Safiya C – Proactive learning in Chemistry since the start of term. Such a mature attitude, completing extra tasks independently without being asked to move her learning forward. Safiya is starting to believe in her ability!

Bella K – Bella has started Latin from scratch but has adapted/picked up the grammar very quickly, joins in when she can with the group (and beats them in quizzes!) and then has to work independently in her own language exercises.

Georgina P – She has tried exceptionally hard in all lessons, particularly English and Maths. Her improvement in handwriting has been phenomenal.

Zara B – Who bravely and confidently took on the request of speaking at Open Morning in front of a large audience. She worked on her speech, practised with me and was generally extremely impressive in her demeanour, attitude and delivery.

A special mention to Georgina (Year 2) for achieving this award at such a young age, which is extremely impressive! The girls, and Dr Lee, enjoyed hearing an expert from her English book, which Georgina read aloud, about her learnings surrounding Black history Month, focusing on Rosa Parks.
