Extra-curricular

Sixth Form girls work hard but we ensure plenty of balance with a wide range of cultural, sporting and social activities. The musical and dramatic life of the school is rich and diverse, while sport provides the chance to compete or relax.

In addition, our broad enrichment programme offers a range of activities including study and field trips to New York, Iceland and the Lake District; day trips to lectures and conferences at universities including Cambridge and Warwick and to the theatre in Stratford and London. Clubs and societies thrive in all areas led jointly by staff and Sixth Form. Competitive debating, the Athenian Society; a cross-curricular presentation and discussion group and groups for those with particular vocational interests such as MedSoc and EngSoc are all well supported. There is also the opportunity to acquire and develop an extensive selection of skills and interests. Girls may decide to form their own Enterpise company and discover what it is really like to manage a business, volunteer in the local community or run clubs and activities for younger girls. In addition there is the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
