Key Stage 3

Individual achievement lies at the heart of our wide-ranging curriculum. We offer a balanced and varied range of subjects to ensure that each girl's potential can be discovered and then developed to the highest level. Pupils are given the opportunity to learn in a wide range of contexts, through practical work, problem solving, researching, working collaboratively and developing thinking and study skills. This is reinforced in and out of lessons by our digital learning platform, Firefly. Excellence underpins every aspect of school life and great emphasis is placed on strong subject teaching with the success of this ethos being demonstrated by our consistently excellent public examination results.

In the Upper Third to Upper Fourth (Years 7 to 9) the timetable covers Art, Biology (Year 9), Careers (Year 9), Chemistry (Year 9), Classics (Year 9), Computing, Drama, English, Food, French, Games, Geography, German, PE, PSHE, History, IT, Latin, Mathematics, Music, Physics (Year 9), Integrated Science (Years 7 and 8), Spanish, Swimming, Textiles and Theology and Philosophy. All girls follow a broad programme of Integrated Science in the first two years of the Senior School, progressing to individual subject teaching of Biology, Chemistry and Physics as they lead up to their GCSE courses in Year 9.
