Science Extravaganza

We welcomed over 120 Year 5 girls from our Junior School and surrounding Primary Schools for a Summer Science Extravaganza.

After watching a ‘smoking’ show with Atomic Tom, the girls went off in groups to a number of different workshops including one with Atomic Science. Anglian Water explained why various items shouldn’t go down the drain, and the girls made their own ‘waste ‘- YUK!

One of our sixth form pupils, created and delivered a brilliant coding workshop.

Lush came to explain the ethics and science behind some of their products, with the girls making bath goodies to take home. The Science Department put on a Forensic investigation activity.

A Bloodhound racer ambassador helped the girls make their own balloon powered rocket cars. Luckily the weather was kind, and allowed the official launch of the Engineering Society rocket.
